Cornwall Set for a Scorcher: Bank Holiday Weekend to Stay Hot and Sunny
If you’ve been waiting for a proper excuse to get to the beach, this is it.
Cornwall is in for a very warm and largely sunny Bank Holiday weekend, with temperatures expected to climb and the sunshine sticking around well into next week.
According to the Met Office forecast for the South West, today (Friday 22nd May) will be a fine one for most, with plenty of sunshine on offer. Low cloud may drift in near the coast at times, and the sunshine could turn a little hazy elsewhere through the afternoon, but it will feel very warm for the majority, with a maximum temperature of 25°C.
This evening stays fine to begin with before cloud spreads in from the west. A few spots of rain are possible overnight, though most places will stay dry. It will be a mild night for many, with the temperature dropping no lower than 12°C.
A sunny Saturday ahead
Saturday looks set to deliver, with any early cloud retreating back to the western coasts to leave a dry and sunny day for most. It will feel very warm in the sunshine, although a little fresher closer to the coast. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 25°C again.
What about the rest of the weekend?
Good news if you’re planning anything for the days that follow. The forecast remains dry and settled throughout Sunday and into early next week, with plenty of sunshine on the way.
It will feel very warm or even hot by day, and there’s the chance of some warm nights too as the weekend rolls into Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday 26th May.
