Heavy rain and strong winds set to hit South West
The South West is set for a cloudy, breezy and increasingly wet spell from Thursday 26th February through to Monday 2nd March, with heavy rain and windy conditions forecast at times.

Thursday 26th February
It will be often cloudy today, with a little drizzle in places during the morning, largely over higher ground. Many areas are expected to stay dry at first.
More persistent and sometimes heavy rain will arrive from the west during the afternoon, with winds strengthening as the day goes on. It will remain mild, with a maximum temperature of 14°C.
Rain will continue to spread eastwards during the evening, bringing a generally wet night. The rain may ease a little later on. It will be rather windy along southern coasts and breezy inland. Overnight temperatures are expected to stay very mild, with a minimum of 9°C.
Friday 27th February
Friday will begin damp, with some drizzly rain. Conditions may turn somewhat brighter by the afternoon, although there is a risk of heavy showers.
It will remain breezy, possibly turning windy later in some exposed areas. Temperatures will stay mild, reaching a maximum of 13°C.
Outlook for Saturday 28th February to Monday 2nd March
After a chilly start on Saturday, conditions are expected to become mostly fine with some sunshine.
Sunday will turn damp and windy.
Monday is forecast to be brighter, although showers are expected to arrive from the west. Temperatures are set to remain mild throughout the period.
