Cornwall Set for Sunshine and 21°C Today Before Cooler Turn
If you are planning to make the most of the bank holiday weather, the next few hours could be your best window. The Met Office is forecasting a warm, bright day across South West England before cloud and cooler air push in from the east.
A warm start to the week
Any early mist and fog should lift quickly, leaving plenty of sunshine through the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to climb to a maximum of 21°C, and it will feel warm in the sun. Cloud is forecast to increase a little towards dusk.
This evening could bring the odd shower in the east, but elsewhere it should stay largely dry. Low cloud will spread into eastern areas overnight, while clear spells further west allow temperatures to dip to a chilly 7°C.
Tuesday brings a grey shift
Tuesday will start brighter in the west, but cloud from the east is expected to push across the region through the day, giving a rather grey afternoon. It will feel noticeably cooler than recent days, with a top temperature of 16°C.
Midweek and beyond
Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to be dry and sunny for many, although breezy, with a risk of showers in western Cornwall. By Friday, the shower risk becomes more widespread and it will start to feel more humid as the working week draws to a close.
