Cornwall Set for Sunshine Return After Grey Tuesday Start

Pack the suncream away for one more day, but not for long. After a rather dull Tuesday across Cornwall, the sun is poised to make a proper comeback from Wednesday onwards, with temperatures climbing into the low twenties.

Tuesday’s Grey Start Gives Way to Brighter Skies

Cornwall began the day brightly, but the rest of the South West has been left under grey skies with the odd spot of light rain. Skies are expected to gradually turn brighter through this afternoon, with sunshine developing later from the east.

A brisk easterly breeze means it will feel cooler than Monday, with maximum temperatures reaching 16°C.

Tonight looks settled for most, with a bright evening and some late sunshine. It will stay dry overnight with plenty of clear skies, although a few showers may push west along the south coast. Temperatures are set to drop to a minimum of 6°C.

Wednesday Brings Warmth and Wind

Wednesday is shaping up to be a much sunnier affair, with dry conditions across much of the region. However, parts of Cornwall and west Devon may catch some showers at times.

It will be a windy day, with coastal gales possible. Maximum temperatures could hit 20°C.

Thursday to Saturday Outlook

The warm, dry weather is set to continue into Thursday for many, with sunshine the dominant feature. Cornwall, however, faces a threat of further showers.

Showers could become more widespread on Friday and Saturday, though there is some good news for anyone heading outdoors at the weekend. Winds will be easing as the week draws to a close.
