31/05/2026 – Weather in Cornwall

After a run of warmer days, June is arriving with a different mood across Cornwall and the wider South West.

The Met Office forecast covering Sunday 31st May to Thursday 4th June points to a fresher, more changeable spell, with rain pushing in from the west and temperatures sitting closer to the seasonal average.

A grey start that should brighten up

Today began rather grey in places, but cloud is expected to lift and break to allow some good spells of sunshine through the afternoon. A few showers are also possible, particularly towards the west of the region. It will feel noticeably fresher than of late, with a maximum temperature of 20°C.

Tonight should stay largely dry with some late sunshine, especially further east. Cloud will increase and the breeze will freshen in the west towards dawn, with the temperature dropping to a minimum of 12°C.

Rain arrives on Monday

Monday opens bright, but cloud will continue to build from the west. Rain is expected to reach western coasts by mid-morning before gradually spreading eastwards across the rest of the day. The maximum temperature is forecast to reach 19°C.

A mixed week ahead

The outlook from Tuesday to Thursday is rather changeable, with a mix of sunshine and showers running through the period. A longer spell of rain is expected on Wednesday. Temperatures will sit near average for early June.
