Cornwall weather: Friday 2 October, dry and warm before the rain
If you have been waiting for a dry day to get outside, Friday is the one to grab. The region opens the weekend on a warm, bright note, but there is rain waiting in the wings, and it does not hold off for long.
The Met Office forecast for South West England, which covers Cornwall, has a dry day for most of us before the picture turns more unsettled. Here is how the weather across the county looks through to Tuesday.

Today
Most places will have a dry day, with some sunshine at times. Cloud tends to increase for a while through the day, and that could bring the chance of the odd very light shower, nothing to reorganise your plans around. When the sun comes out it will feel pleasantly warm, with a high of around 20°C.
Tonight
Clear spells this evening give way to cloud building into the early hours of Saturday, which could bring some patchy rain to the north of the region. Temperatures dip just into single figures in rural spots, down to a low of about 10°C, so it will feel fresher once the sun goes in.
Saturday (3 October)
Saturday morning holds on to some bright spells, but the cloud generally wins out, rolling in from the northwest. Showery rain develops through the day, and some of it could turn locally heavy. Winds stay light, which is kinder for anyone outdoors, though it also lets fog form in prone spots overnight. The high is again around 20°C.

The outlook: Sunday to Tuesday (4 to 6 October)
Sunday starts with mist and fog, clearing to leave sunny spells. Monday and Tuesday keep some bright spells going too, though both days are often fairly cloudy, with the odd spot of light rain possible.
The one to watch through all of it is Saturday, when the dry run breaks and the rain, heavy in places, finally arrives.
