Cornwall weather: Monday 27 July, heat builds midweek
Dig out the sun cream and keep the water bottle topped up, because the week ahead is shaping up warm and getting warmer. The Met Office regional forecast for South West England, which covers Cornwall, points to dry, settled days with plenty of sunshine before things build to a midweek peak. There is a twist near the end of the week, so make the most of it while it lasts.

Today
A dry start with bright spells, and it should stay dry all day, with an increasingly sunny afternoon developing. Cloud will build across Devon and Cornwall by mid-afternoon, so the west may lose some of that shine earlier than the rest of the region. It will feel very warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 23°C.
Tonight
Staying dry overnight with clear spells for many. Variable amounts of cloud will keep feeding in across Devon and Cornwall, and winds will be light. Minimum temperature 13°C.
Tuesday
A bright start, particularly in the east, with a cloudier start in the west. That cloud will lift and break through the day, letting sunny spells develop across Cornwall too. Maximum temperature 25°C.

Wednesday to Friday
Things stay largely settled over the coming days with plenty of sunshine. It turns very warm, with temperatures rising further and becoming hot locally by Wednesday. Then the pattern shifts. From Thursday it turns cooler and less settled, so the hottest day looks likely to land midweek before the change arrives.
