Cornwall weather: Saturday 7 November, fog clears to frosty sunshine
Give yourself a few extra minutes this morning and wrap up warm. The Met Office forecast for South West England, which covers Cornwall, opens on dense fog and a touch of frost before the murk lifts to leave proper autumn sunshine. The theme for the next few days is a simple one: bright, clear skies by day and sharply colder nights. Here is how the week’s weather across Cornwall shapes up.

Today (Saturday 7 November)
Start with care. Dense fog affects many areas through the morning, and it is cold with some frost patches about. Coastal showers may turn heavy at times, while the best of the bright or sunny spells will be found further inland. It feels cool, but there is pleasant autumn sunshine to be had once the fog clears, with a maximum temperature of around 12°C.
Tonight
The odd coastal shower hangs on, but otherwise it turns dry with long clear spells, and under those clear skies the temperature falls away sharply. It turns cold with a touch of frost, and fog develops again inland. The minimum drops to around 3°C.
Sunday 8 November
A pleasant autumnal day once the morning fog lifts, with long spells of sunshine to follow. It stays rather chilly though, and a brisk coastal breeze arriving in the afternoon will add an edge to it. Maximum temperature around 10°C.

Monday to Wednesday
Monday starts foggy, frosty and bright before the cloud thickens up later. Into Tuesday and Wednesday it turns cloudy and breezy with spells of rain moving in, so the dry, bright run comes to an end. The one consolation is the temperature, which will feel milder than the cold days that came before.
