Cornwall weather: Sunday 23 August, sunny 22°C before blustery Monday
If you have been waiting for a clear window to get down to the coast, Sunday is it. Cornwall gets a proper late-summer day, sunshine overhead and next to no chance of rain, before the wind muscles in to open the working week. Here is how the next few days shape up across the county, and why Monday feels rather different.

Today, Sunday 23 August
A sunny day in and around Truro, with the temperature climbing to a high of 22°C and dropping to 13°C. It feels a touch cooler than the thermometer suggests, closer to 19°C in the day and 9°C by the small hours, so a light layer is worth having if you are out late. The chance of rain sits below 5%, which is about as dry as a Cornish forecast gets, and the wind stays gentle with gusts topping out around 21mph. Good beach weather for the tail end of the summer holidays, and a fine one for anyone chasing the last of the season on the water.
Tonight
Clear skies hold overnight, with the temperature easing back to around 13°C. Little to trouble anyone heading out, and a decent night for a look at the stars before the cloud arrives.
Monday 24 August
This is where the week’s weather turns a corner. Monday clouds over, holding a high of 22°C and a low of 16°C, with a 30% chance of rain around the middle of the afternoon. The headline is the wind, which picks up sharply to gusts near 37mph, the strongest of the coming week. Expect it to feel blustery on exposed coasts and the higher ground, so pin down anything loose in the garden.

Tuesday 25 August
Cloudy again, with a high of 21°C and a low of 15°C. There is a 30% chance of a shower early on, around 6am, before things settle. The wind backs off to gusts of about 25mph, calmer than Monday but still with a noticeable edge.
Wednesday 26 August
Sunny intervals return, a high of 21°C and a low of 16°C. Keep half an eye on the middle of the afternoon, when the chance of rain climbs to 40% around 3pm. Gusts reach roughly 29mph.
Thursday 27 August
More sunny intervals, though a shade cooler at 20°C by day and 14°C overnight. The likeliest slot for rain shifts to the early morning, a 40% chance around 7am, with gusts near 28mph.

Friday 28 August
Sunny intervals once more, a high of 20°C and a low of 16°C. A 30% chance of an early shower around 7am, and gusts of about 25mph. A serviceable end to the working week if you can dodge the morning drops.
The weekend ahead
Saturday leans cloudy, holding at 20°C by day and 16°C overnight, with a 40% chance of rain around 7am and gusts near 28mph. So the pattern for the days ahead is a bright, calm start today, a windy jolt on Monday, then a run of mixed skies where the sun and the showers keep trading places. Worth checking again before you commit to anything outdoors later in the week.
