Cornwall weather: Thursday 1 October, warm before weekend rain
If you want to get the washing out or a walk in, today looks like your window. The Met Office has Cornwall and the wider South West down for a largely dry, bright day with a warm feel whenever the sun is out, though the settled spell comes with a weekend catch. Here is how the next few days shape up, based on the latest weather forecast for the region.

Today (Thursday 1 October)
A few showers are possible first thing, mostly clearing through the morning. After that, most places should get a dry day with sunny spells. It turns a little breezy along the coast, but it feels warm wherever the sun breaks through, with highs of around 19°C.
Tonight
The dry theme holds into the evening and overnight, with clear periods and only the odd shower sneaking through. It turns breezier, especially near the coast, though it stays relatively mild with lows of about 9°C.
Friday 2 October
Friday opens with early sunny spells before the skies turn mainly cloudy later on. The odd shower is possible, but many places will probably stay dry. It stays breezy and rather warm for October, with the temperature nudging up to 20°C, the high point of the week.

The weekend and into next week
This is where it changes. Rain moves in from the north on Saturday, pushing southwards across the region through the day. Sunday looks the pick of the three, drier with sunny spells returning, before things turn damp again at times on Monday. It stays breezy in spells throughout, but the one constant is the warmth, which hangs on rather stubbornly for this far into October.
