Cornwall weather: Wednesday 29 July, 27°C before it turns fresher

The east of the region is in line for the peak of the warmth on Wednesday, with temperatures climbing towards the high twenties before cooler, fresher air starts to work its way in for the back half of the week. Today

Cloud will sit over western parts on Wednesday, thick enough first thing to bring patchy drizzle and some fog over the hills. Head east and you get the better deal. That is where the best of the sunshine shows up, and where it turns quite hot, with a maximum of 27°C.

Tonight

The east keeps some sunshine to round off the day, while it stays cloudier further west. Overnight, cloud generally feeds in across the region from the northwest, and there could be patchy drizzle around by the morning. Minimum temperature 16°C.

Thursday

Thursday starts cloudy, with the odd spot of rain to contend with. Skies brighten from the northwest through the afternoon, and that leaves a mostly fine evening. It feels fresher too, in gentle northwesterly winds, with a top temperature of 23°C.

Friday to the weekend

That fresher feel is set to stick around into Friday and across the weekend. High pressure builds back over the region, though, which keeps things largely dry with some warm sunshine at times. Cooler than the start of the week, then, but not a washout, and the kind of settled spell that could last a while yet.
