Bude Lifeguard Stell Runs 10K to Raise Funds for the Team

He will tell you he is not a runner. That has not stopped Senior Lifeguard Stell from signing up for a 10K race this week, with the money going to the team that keeps Bude’s beaches safe.

Stell is taking on the Bude Lifeboat 10K Race on the evening of Wednesday 10th June. According to Bude RNLI Lifeguards, he has never considered himself a runner, but he has been putting in the training to get ready for the challenge.

Anyone who wants to back him can do so through his JustGiving page. The page says every penny raised will come directly back to the Bude Lifeguards, helping to fund equipment and training that keeps beachgoers safe through the season.

What the Bude lifeguards did in 2024

The JustGiving page was set up to support the work of the RNLI Lifeguards covering the beaches in the Bude area.

During 2024, the lifeguards were involved in 253 incidents. They saved one life and assisted a further 390 people. On top of that, they carried out 77,664 preventative actions to help keep beach users safe.

The money raised will help make sure the RNLI Lifeguards in the Bude area have the equipment and training to keep doing that work.
