Cornwall weather: Monday 3 August, 26°C warmth before showers
If you have outdoor plans early this week, front-load them. The new week opens with real warmth across Cornwall, the kind of sticky, humid heat that makes the shade worth chasing. But there is a catch building out west, and it arrives sooner than the sunshine might suggest.

Today
The week starts dry with bright spells, and it will feel very warm and humid across the region. Thicker cloud is likely to build in the west and through the Bristol Channel as the day goes on, and that brings a chance of patchy rain with it. The high reaches 26°C, so it is one to enjoy while it lasts.
Tonight
The western half of the region looks set for a cloudy evening and night, with the odd shower possible. Head further east and it stays drier, with occasional clear spells breaking through. The overnight low sits at 16°C, so it stays muggy.
Tuesday
Tuesday brings a fair amount of cloud, and a scattering of showers is likely, some of them locally heavy. It will not feel quite as warm or as humid as Monday. The top temperature drops to 23°C.

Wednesday to Friday
Wednesday turns cooler and rather breezy, with a few more showers in the mix. Then the week eases off. The end of the week looks drier and less breezy, with some sunshine coming back, though it will feel fresher than the warm, close start you began with.
