Cornwall weather: Saturday 12 September, dry 22°C before Sunday rain
If you have been waiting for a dry day to get out and about, Saturday is the one to grab. The Met Office has Cornwall and the wider South West staying mainly dry and fairly warm today, with the temperature reaching 22°C, before rain sweeps in overnight and sets up a much wetter Sunday. Here is how the Cornwall weather shapes up across the weekend and into next week.

Today
Saturday 12 September starts widely dry with bright or sunny spells, though there could be a few isolated light showers dotted around. Cloud builds a little more through the afternoon, but it stays very likely dry and feels rather warm, with a high of 22°C. It turns rather breezy towards the coast, so beaches and clifftops will feel a touch fresher than the temperature suggests.
Tonight
Cloud thickens overnight and outbreaks of rain move in from the north, though some southern parts of the region could hold on and stay dry until morning. It stays rather breezy in places and turns muggy, with the temperature not dropping below 17°C.
Sunday 13 September
Tomorrow, Sunday 13 September, is a different day. Cloudy skies bring outbreaks of locally heavy rain in the morning, so it is worth having wet-weather plans ready if you are heading out early. The rain should turn lighter through the afternoon. Winds are lighter than Saturday and it still feels humid, and despite the wet start the temperature climbs to a high of 23°C, the warmest reading of the whole period.

The week ahead
From Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 September the picture stays changeable, with spells of rain or showers at times and the air feeling increasingly fresh. It turns windy too, as bands of rain move through one after another.
