Fly to Lapland and Back in One Day from Newquay

Families in Cornwall will soon be able to visit Santa’s homeland and return home the very same day, as a new festive charter flight launches from Cornwall Airport Newquay.

For the first time, a same-day Lapland experience will depart from Newquay on 21st December 2026, taking passengers directly to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, widely known as the official home of Santa Claus.

A full Lapland experience in a single day

The exclusive charter has been designed to give families a complete Lapland experience without the need for an overnight stay.

Operated by The Lapland Experience in partnership with Murray Travel, the trip includes a full itinerary of festive activities. Visitors can enjoy husky sledding, a reindeer sleigh ride, snow sledging and a private meeting with Santa Claus.

The day also includes a hot buffet lunch and time to explore Santa Claus Village before flying back to Cornwall later the same evening. Children will still be home in time for bed.

Newquay departure marks a first

The trip is expected to be popular with families across the South West looking for a festive experience closer to home.
