The pint that outsold everything at Newquay airport this August
August has closed the books at Newquay, and the totals left behind say as much about the bar as they do about the runway. Thousands of passengers filled the terminal all month, but it’s what they ate and drank on the way through that has people talking now the numbers are in.

Busiest skies of the summer
Last month, 53,349 passengers passed through Cornwall Airport Newquay, with 2,759 air traffic movements keeping the summer skies full. Among the routes, flights to Edinburgh ran at a 93 per cent load factor, one of the strongest showings of the season.
A very Cornish send-off
It wasn’t only the skies that were busy. The airport’s cafe and retail teams served up 1,293 Korevs last month, making it August’s most popular pint. Alongside that came 1,016 traditional Cornish pasties, a pairing the airport reckons is about as Cornish as a send-off gets.
Destination of the month: Manchester
The airport has named Manchester as its destination of the month. Whether it’s a city break, a work trip, visiting family, or connecting onward, the route is covered by Loganair, which flies direct from Newquay to Manchester six times a week, all year round.
Whether September can match August’s pint count is anyone’s guess.
