When the roads will close

The closure runs from 10.45am to 12.15pm on Sunday 4 October 2026. It has been approved by Cornwall Council under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which covers temporary closures for special events.

Which roads are affected

The council’s map lists traffic restrictions on two roads in Hayle:

  • Hayle Terrace
  • St Elwyns Rise

On the map, the restricted stretch follows the B3301 along Hayle Terrace, past the memorial, with St Elwyns Rise closed near the Parish Church of St Elwyn.

Notices and signs

Those organising the event have undertaken to let people directly affected by the closure know about it. That includes bus companies where relevant, residents and businesses along the route, and traders who may need to make deliveries or collections in the area.

The event organiser will also put up notices on each road being closed at least 14 days before the closure. They are responsible for putting up, maintaining and removing all the signs and site notices needed.

Questions about the closure

The closure was confirmed by the council’s Streetworks team, part of Connectivity and Environment, who can be reached on 0300 1234 222.

The map, site notice and approved Order have all been published alongside the closure.
