Braving the Weather
Eleven people took part in the Birdwatching at Mevagissey Harbour event. The outing was organised by Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, Founder and Chair of Connect with Nature, RSPB Kernow Group Leader, and Publicity Officer of Cornwall Birds.
Rowena helped bring the group together for the harbour visit, while Rob Nicholls led the fieldtrip on the day.
Although visibility was limited because of the dense fog, the group successfully recorded sixteen different bird species during the outing.
Ending the Day on a Warm Note
After spending time scanning the harbour and surrounding area for wildlife, the event finished with participants enjoying coffee, tea, and cake together.
While the weather may have been far from ideal, the group still managed to make the most of the day and celebrate both International Women’s Day and World Wildlife Day with a shared interest in Cornwall’s birdlife.
