Police appeal after fatal collision near Cornwall Airport Newquay

Police were called to the road near the airport front at Carnanton just before two o’clock on Monday afternoon. Two cars, a Kia and a Peugeot. One driver did not survive.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following the fatal two-vehicle collision near Cornwall Airport Newquay.

What happened

Police were called at around 1.45pm on Monday 13 July to the collision at Carnanton, close to the airport front. The vehicles involved were a Kia Picanto and a Peugeot 208.

The driver of the Kia, a man in his 70s from Wadebridge, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger in the Kia and the driver of the Peugeot, both adult women, were taken to hospital.

The appeal for witnesses

Officers thanked the public for their patience while the scene was investigated.
