The Headland Hotel Launches New Family Suite with Minni Parker
What happens when two designers end up sharing a table on the Bodmin to Paddington train, both buried under fabric samples? In this case, a brand new family suite at one of Cornwall’s most recognisable coastal hotels.
The Headland Hotel and Spa in Newquay has launched the Minni Parker Best Family Suite, a newly redesigned room created in partnership with British textiles and homewares brand Minni Parker.

A Chance Meeting on the Train
The collaboration started in the most unlikely of places. The Headland’s Family Director, Veryan Palmer, found herself sharing a table with Katharine Lawrie, founder of Minni Parker, on a train heading from Bodmin to Paddington. Both women were surrounded by fabric samples, and the conversation quickly turned into something more.
Katharine, known to her family as Minni, designs her collection from home in Cornwall, drawing on her Austrian heritage. Every piece in her range is milled, printed, sewn or painted in England.
The Headland has been trading in understated elegance for generations, and Minni Parker is known for bridging the gap between classic and contemporary. Both sides of the partnership share family history rooted in sandy summers on Fistral Beach.
Inside the Suite
The suite sleeps up to four guests, with a spacious lounge area, a super king bed and bunk beds. Two of Katharine’s new designs, Edelweiss and Landhaus, run throughout the room, alongside fabrics and wallpapers that mix alpine charm with coastal elegance. The balcony looks out across the Atlantic.
The suite was launched in April 2026.
British Makers Throughout
Veryan and Katharine brought in a roster of British independent makers to bring the room together.
Paint came from independent British manufacturer Little Greene. Furniture was handcrafted in England by Still and Bloom using traditional methods and sustainable British materials sourced from the West Country. Still and Bloom’s founder Nick has spent many happy holidays at The Headland with his family.
The bed itself was made by British-based Get Laid Beds, upholstered in Katharine’s new Landhaus fabric and fitted with a Hypnos Harmony mattress. The mattress was crafted in conjunction with the Eden Project, made from sustainably sourced plant and fruit-based fibres, and uses ‘Responsible Wool Standard’ certified British wool.
Local artist Andy Pearce of Saltwalls Gallery in Newquay was commissioned to produce artwork for the suite. Andy was The Headland’s artist in residence in 2024.
The full Minni Parker collection is available through the brand’s website, and further details on the Minni Parker Best Family Suite can be found on the Headland Hotel website.
