RSPCA Cornwall’s Paws for a Cause fun day raises £700
A field full of wagging tails, a line-up of local stallholders and a dog show with four categories to fight out. That was the scene at Silverbow Country Park last weekend, where RSPCA Cornwall held its Paws for a Cause: The Next 30 Starts Here Family Fun Day, and by the end of it the branch had over £700 in the pot for a kennel refurbishment.

A big turnout at Silverbow
The branch called it a wonderful day, and the numbers back that up. Families and their dogs filled Silverbow Country Park for the fun day, with the venue thanked for welcoming the event and helping it come together. The total raised, over £700, goes towards refurbishing the kennels the branch uses for animals in its care.
Four categories, and some very good dogs
The dog show ran across four categories on the day. Handsome Hound went down to a close call, as did Cornwall’s Best Smile, before Best Dog and Owner Bond and The Waggiest Tail rounded things off. The branch said its judges had some very difficult decisions to make, with so many dogs taking part on the day.
Stallholders, volunteers and judges all thanked
None of it happens without the people behind the stalls and the gazebos. RSPCA Cornwall thanked its volunteers for their time and hard work, without which it says events like this simply would not be possible, and thanked the judges for getting through such a tricky set of decisions.
The stallholders who came along and supported the day were The Damp Squid, Aymee & Co Crafts, Cornwall Creates Slates, Wooditburn, Crafty Bird Cornwall, Kay’s Craftworks, Huggo Cornwall, Cornish Sparkle, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Simply the Zest, Alyce’s Faces in Wonderland and Stonebridge Pizzas.
