Thunder Risk and Hill Snow on the Way: What the Next Five Days Have in Store for the South West
Rain will gradually clear across the South West today, but unsettled conditions are set to continue into the week with heavy showers, a risk of thunder and even some hill snow later on.
Here is what to expect from Sunday 15 February through to Thursday 19 February.

Sunday: Rain Clearing but Showers Follow
Rain will clear the far eastern parts of the region during the morning. Brighter spells are expected to develop behind the rain band, although these will be mixed with blustery showers.
Some of the showers could be heavy and perhaps locally thundery. It will feel milder than Saturday, with maximum temperatures reaching 12C.
Sunday Night: Chilly but Mostly Frost Free
There remains a risk of showers through the evening and overnight, mainly affecting western areas.
Where skies clear it will turn chilly, although most places are expected to remain frost free. Overnight temperatures are forecast to dip to a minimum of 2C.
Monday: Heavy Showers and a Possible Rural Frost
Monday will bring variable cloud and bright spells, along with occasional showers that could be locally heavy.
Showers are expected to ease from the north later in the day. Into the night, a rural frost is possible. Daytime temperatures will be cooler than Sunday, with a maximum of 8C.

Tuesday to Thursday: Crisp Start, Then Rain and Sleet
Tuesday will begin bright and crisp. However, skies are set to turn hazy during the afternoon.
Outbreaks of rain are likely from Wednesday, with a risk of some hill snow. By Thursday, rain and sleet are expected to clear.
Residents across the South West are advised to keep an eye on the changing conditions as the week progresses, particularly in areas prone to heavier showers or higher ground where wintry weather may develop.
