Shoplifter Given Criminal Behaviour Order Banning Him From Liskeard
Prolific Shoplifter Banned From Entering Liskeard for Three Years
A prolific shoplifter has been banned from entering the town of Liskeard after admitting a series of theft offences targeting local businesses.
Joshua Wilson, 26, of no fixed abode, appeared at Truro Magistrates Court on 3rd March where he pleaded guilty to nine shoplifting offences. The court made Joshua subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and also handed him a two year community order.
Police say the offences took place between 16th December and 7th January 2026, during which time more than £500 worth of goods were stolen.

Shops Targeted During Theft Spree
According to police, Joshua repeatedly targeted a number of shops in Liskeard, stealing items including clothing, food and household goods.
The conditions of the three year Criminal Behaviour Order mean Joshua is now banned from entering or loitering outside several premises he previously targeted. These include:
-
Coop, Barras Street
-
Poundland, Pondbridge Hill
-
Superdrug, Fore Street
-
Boots, Baytree Hill
-
Morrisons
-
Aldi, Clemo Road
-
Addington Stores, Callington Road
-
Spar Stores, Dean Street
He is also prohibited from entering or loitering around any commercial premises anywhere in Cornwall if he is asked to leave by a premises manager or staff member.
Ban From Liskeard
As part of the order, Joshua is banned from entering the town of Liskeard entirely.
The conditions state that he must not enter, attempt to enter, or be located within the area known as Liskeard in Cornwall. The only exception is if he is attending pre arranged appointments with professional organisations or passing through on public transport.
He is also prohibited from using swear words, making threats, or acting in a way that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to anyone in Liskeard.
Breaching any condition of the Criminal Behaviour Order is a criminal offence and could result in a custodial sentence.
Community Order and Rehabilitation
In addition to the CBO, the court ordered Joshua to complete a two year community order. As part of this he must comply with curfew conditions and take part in a rehabilitation programme.
Police said:
“This has been a positive result for the community – we don’t underestimate the impact that Wilson’s behaviour had on local people, in particular the local businesses.”
The Criminal Behaviour Order was secured following a joint investigation by the Liskeard neighbourhood policing team and Cornwall Council’s antisocial behaviour case worker.
Anyone who believes the order has been breached is asked to report it by calling 999.
