Meet Aidan Jepson, Hayle’s new PCSO with an ultra-running habit

There’s a new face on patrol around Hayle, and he’d quite like you to say hello.

PCSO Aidan Jepson has joined the Hayle Neighbourhood Policing Team, and introduced himself to the town in a post shared by Hayle and St Ives Police.

Cornish born and bred

Aidan has lived in Cornwall all his life and says he’s passionate about supporting the communities that make this part of the world so special.

Policing is a second career. He previously ran his own local business before deciding to take on a new challenge, and chose a role where he could make a positive difference every day.

“I’m proud to be joining the Hayle Neighbourhood Policing Team,” he said.

Football coach, dad and ultra-runner

Away from work, Aidan is a husband and father of two. He coaches a local Under-11 football team. And when he’s not on the touchline, he takes part in ultra-running events.

He says community involvement has always mattered to him, and it’s something he’s keen to bring into the job.

Aidan wants to be a visible, approachable and supportive presence in the town.

“Whether you have a concern to raise, need some advice, or simply want to introduce yourself, please don’t hesitate to stop and chat if you see me out on patrol,” he said.

“I look forward to meeting you all and working with the community to help keep Hayle a safe and welcoming place to live, work and visit.”
