Cornwall Fireworks 2026: Every Bonfire Night Display, Date and Price

Published On: 30 October 2026Last Updated: 30 October 2026By
Red, gold and blue fireworks bursting in the night sky

Twenty-eight displays. Ten nights. One county. You can roll into the dark on a steam train at Lappa Valley, watch drones light up the sky over Newquay, or stand by a farm-shop bonfire looking out over the north coast. Cornwall’s fireworks season runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November this year. And for the second year running, Truro City Council won’t be putting on a display of its own.

Bonfire Night falls on a Thursday in 2026, so instead of everything landing on one weekend, the displays are spread over ten days. Saturday 7 November is the busiest night by far, with ten bonfire and fireworks events across the county.

Below you’ll find every display we could confirm for 2026, with dates, times, prices, parking and how to get tickets. We’ve also included the events that aren’t going ahead and the rules if you’re planning your own. We checked every listing against the organiser’s own page or ticket site on 30 October. Plans can change, especially if the weather turns, so check with the organiser before you set off.

Halloween weekend: Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November

It’s half term, and the season starts early. Four displays fall before November even begins, and two of them need tickets bought in advance.

Lappa Valley Fireworks Spectaculars, St Newlyn East

This is the one where the journey is half the fun. You ride the train through the twilight to East Wheal Rose, which is strung with festoon lights, and the display is centred on the lit-up 19th-century Engine House. Expect rockets, fountains and candles fired around it.

Before the display, the Engine Shed Café serves hot and cold food, snacks, warming winter drinks and alcohol. The indoor soft play, adventure golf and outdoor play areas are open too, and there’s a stall selling glow sticks, glow glasses and headbands. Shortly before the fireworks everyone is moved into a safety area, and the play areas and Lakeside Railway close for the rest of the night. After the display, trains run on demand to get everyone back.

“For some families, these events are already an annual tradition,” said Ben Harding, Operations Director at Lappa Valley. “For others, this will be their first visit, and we can’t wait to welcome them on board.” More on Lappa Valley’s autumn events.

  • When: Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October. Fireworks start soon after the final train reaches East Wheal Rose, normally between 7.30pm and 7.45pm. Activities and soft play run until the last train, around 9pm
  • Where: Lappa Valley Railway, St Newlyn East, Newquay TR8 5LX
  • Price: £11.25 for everyone aged 3 and over, under-3s free
  • Tickets: strictly pre-booked through the Lappa Valley website. Anyone without a booking won’t be let in. Each ticket is for a set train, and earlier trains can’t be swapped in
  • What’s closed: the pedalo swans, Newlyn Downs Branchline, Woodland Walk and Musical Walk
  • Good to know: sparklers aren’t allowed. Memberships, discount return cards, vouchers and complimentary tickets aren’t valid. Daytime visitors can’t stay on between the day session and the fireworks. Tickets are non-refundable, though changes may be possible for a £5 fee

  • When: Saturday 31 October. Gates 4pm, fireworks 8.30pm, live music in the bar from 9pm, finishes 11pm

Falmouth Bonfire Night Fireworks from Pendennis Castle

Falmouth’s fireworks have had a rough couple of years. The fire station’s long-running Bonfire Night display at the cricket ground was called off over safety concerns in 2025, and this summer the Falmouth Week fireworks were cancelled when weeks without rain left the ground tinder dry. So this year Falmouth Town Team, the partnership between Falmouth Town Council and Falmouth BID, is putting on a one-off free display launched from Pendennis Castle, with support from the Town Mayor.

“We know how much people missed the fireworks at Falmouth Week this year, so we’re delighted to be putting on a one-off display for Fireworks Night instead,” said Richard Gates, Falmouth Town Manager. He’s encouraging people to make an evening of it and head into town afterwards for the restaurants and pubs.

The castle site is closed to the public that evening, as that’s where the fireworks are launched from. Watch from a sensible distance at one of the recommended spots.

  • When: Thursday 5 November, 7pm
  • Where to watch: the Hornworks at Pendennis Point (temporary toilets are provided), the seafront along Cliff Road, Custom House Quay, Church Street car park and Prince of Wales Pier
  • Road closures: all roads around Pendennis Point close from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, with access only to Pendennis Leisure car park until it’s full
  • Parking: Pendennis Leisure car park is limited and first come, first served. There’s no charge, but donations to Pendennis Leisure are encouraged. Bays for Pendennis Leisure customers and blue badge holders will be marked. The gates are locked promptly at 8pm
  • Price: free
  • Good to know: walk if you can, arrive early, follow the stewards and keep children close. Updates go on the Falmouth fireworks page, LoveFalmouth on Instagram and Falmouth Cornwall UK on Facebook

Bonfire and Fireworks at Sea View Farm Shop, St Teath

This event is now sold out. Sea View’s bonfire night overlooks the north Cornish coast near Port Isaac. The display is by Celebration Pyrotechnics, and there’s a bonfire to gather round beforehand. Food runs from 6pm, with pizza, crêpes, burgers, Greek street food, cake and mulled cider. After the fireworks the night moves into the café for Willow Hill, a Nashville country band led by husband-and-wife Alexandra and CT Fields, who’ve been named a Rolling Stone “Band to Watch”.

  • When: Thursday 5 November. Arrive from 5.30pm, food and bar from 6pm, fireworks 7pm, café and bar open until about 10pm
  • Where: Sea View Farm Shop, B3314, near Port Isaac PL30 3LR
  • Price: tickets were listed from £12, with adult, child (under 16) and car parking options
  • Parking: a large hard-surfaced car park, but share lifts if you can

Free fireworks in Cornwall this year

Watching on a budget? These displays are free, though most ask for a donation in the bucket.

  • Callington Halloween Party and Fireworks, Saturday 31 October
  • Helston & St Keverne YFC, Porthleven, Wednesday 4 November
  • Falmouth from Pendennis Castle, Thursday 5 November
  • Hayle Fireworks Extravaganza, Saturday 7 November (cash donation on arrival)
  • Royal Standard, Gwinear, Saturday 7 November

Later in the month, Cornwall’s Winter Wonderland at Pool Market has two free displays planned, on Saturday 21 November and Saturday 19 December, both at 8pm.

Book now: displays with no tickets on the door

Some events sell out or don’t sell on the night at all. Book these before you go:

  • Lappa Valley: pre-booking only, no walk-ins
  • SPARKS at Carlyon Bay and Hendra: advance tickets only, none on the door
  • St Erme: no ticket, no entry, and parking must be booked with your tickets
  • Rilla Mill: online tickets this year, cheaper than on the night, and sales on the night aren’t guaranteed
  • Sea View, St Teath: already sold out

Where there are no fireworks this year

Truro. Truro City Council has cancelled its Bonfire Night display for the second year running. A working group had planned a ticketed event at Tremorvah Playing Field, with road closures and crowd management. But with up to 5,000 people expected, it counted as an enhanced tier event under Martyn’s Law. The law doesn’t take effect until 2027, but councils are being encouraged to act as if it already applies. “Truro City Council can only stage events where it is satisfied that it can do so safely and within available budgets,” said Town Clerk David Rodda. The council says it will keep looking for a way to bring the event back. Truro City FC’s display on 3 November and St Erme’s on 7 November are the nearest alternatives.

Falmouth Cricket Club. The long-running display at Trescobeas, organised by the fire station, stopped in 2025. This year Falmouth’s fireworks are launched from Pendennis Castle instead.

Port Eliot, St Germans. The 2024 display was billed as the last.

Still to be confirmed. We couldn’t find a 2026 date for some regular displays, including Porthminster Beach in St Ives, Chacewater, St Buryan, Tregony, Launceston’s Coronation Park, Lanreath, Polgooth and Tywardreath. If you’re running one of these, email [email protected] and we’ll add it.

Setting off fireworks at home: the rules

If you’re planning your own display, the law on timings is clear. Under the Fireworks Regulations 2004, you can’t set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am. On 5 November the cut-off moves to midnight.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service’s main advice is to go to an organised display if you can, as they have safety measures in place. If you do have fireworks or a bonfire at home, the usual safety advice applies:

  • Keep a bucket of water close by
  • Light fireworks at arm’s length and stand well back
  • Never go back to a firework once it’s lit, even if it hasn’t gone off
  • Supervise sparklers closely. They burn at very high temperatures and aren’t toys. Pushing the end into a carrot gives small hands something safer to hold, and spent sparklers go straight into water
  • Build bonfires well away from houses, sheds, fences and trees, and check them for hedgehogs and other animals before lighting
  • Tell your neighbours, especially anyone with pets, horses or livestock

Looking after pets on Bonfire Night

With displays across ten nights this year, pets in Cornwall will hear bangs well beyond the 5th. Walk dogs before dark, keep cats in, and shut windows and curtains to muffle the noise. A radio or TV on in the background helps, and so does giving them somewhere to hide. Horse owners near display sites may want to check the dates above.

The last scheduled bang of the season, for now, is at Rilla Mill at 6pm on Sunday 8 November.
