RSPB Kernow Local Group Birdwatching at Towan Head Records 16 Bird Species
Bird enthusiasts gathered at Towan Head, Newquay, for a nature walk with the RSPB Kernow Local Group, spotting an impressive variety of species.
The event was organised by Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, RSPB Kernow Local Group Leader and Publicity Officer for the Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society, with Rob Nicholls leading as Fieldtrip Leader.
Birds in Their Numbers
During the session, the group recorded 16 species of birds, including:

3x Rock Pipit

5x Meadow Pipit

3x Carrion Crow

3x Great Black-backed Gull

21x Herring Gull

4x Cormorant

Butterflies Join the Show
Alongside the birdlife, watchers also noted three butterfly species:

A Friendly Finish
After the birdwatching, Rowena served tea, coffee, and biscuits for the group to enjoy together.
