You’ve clocked a pothole that’s about to swallow a wheel, a pile of fly-tipped rubbish on the verge, or a bin that never got emptied, and now comes the annoying bit: working out who at Cornwall Council actually deals with it. The council has just made that part a lot simpler.

One page, all the forms

Cornwall Council has pulled its most-used “report a problem” forms together on a single page, Report something, so residents don’t have to hunt through the website working out which department covers what. The council’s message is straightforward: “Spotted something? Report it.”

From that one page you can get straight through to the forms for:

  • Potholes and road surfaces, including the dedicated pothole form
  • Fly-tipping and illegal dumping
  • Missed bin collections, plus ordering a replacement bin or sack if yours is damaged or missing
  • Graffiti and flyposting on public property

And the list goes further than those four headline icons. The same page links through to reporting streetlights that are out, abandoned vehicles, blocked drains, dangerous or dying trees, dog fouling, illegally parked vehicles, and problems with road signs or markings, among others.

Why it’s worth saving

The point of gathering the forms in one place is to save people the guesswork. Council services can sit under different teams depending on what’s gone wrong, so a query that looks simple (“who do I tell about this bin?”) can otherwise mean several clicks before you find the right form.

Cornwall Council’s own advice is to bookmark the page for next time: “Save this post for when you need it.”

Where to find it

The full list of forms is at cornwall.gov.uk/report-something, and Cornwall Council posted the reminder on its Facebook page.
