An AWEN Award for services to the Cornish language
Sarah Buck, from Cornwall Council‘s Cornish Language Office, has received an AWEN Award for her work on BBC Radio Cornwall’s Learn Cornish podcast. Her certificate, from Gorsedh Kernow, recognises her “for services to the Cornish language.”
Three Gorsedh Kernow Awards for the Learn Cornish podcast
The podcast itself has now picked up three Gorsedh Kernow Awards in total, recognising the work of Sarah, Radio 1 DJ Danni Diston and the teams at BBC Radio Cornwall and Cornwall Council behind the series. The 12-part podcast has helped bring Kernewek to a wider audience, introducing listeners to the language alongside the stories, history and culture of Cornwall.
Cornwall Council called it “fantastic recognition for everyone involved in helping more people discover and enjoy the Cornish language.”
