UK Mining Conference 2026 Expands with Additional Events in Falmouth
Registrations for the UK Mining Conference 2026 in Cornwall have surged, with numbers doubling compared to this time last year and only a limited number of places now remaining.
The seventh annual event will take place at Princess Pavilion in Falmouth on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th June 2026, and organisers have now expanded the programme to include additional satellite events across the town.

Extra Day Added with Specialist Events
Alongside the main two-day conference, a new programme of activities will run on Tuesday 9th June, offering delegates more opportunities to get involved.
These include a Geothermal Forum and Geologists’ Workshop at Princess Pavilion, as well as an Inside Mining Seminar and the inaugural Investors’ Congress at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
The conference brings together global experts to discuss mineral exploration and development, ESG, and the circular economy, while aiming to tackle challenges and support the next generation of clean energy projects.
Focus on Geothermal and Industry Insights
The Geothermal Forum and Geologists’ Workshop will feature speakers from organisations including the British Geological Society, Camborne School of Mines, Cornish Lithium, Cornwall Mining & Geo-Resource Alliance, Geothermal Engineering Ltd and UK GeoPower.
With 30 geothermal projects already in development across the UK, including several in Cornwall, the sessions are expected to explore links between geothermal energy and geology, while encouraging collaboration across the sector.
Meanwhile, the Inside Mining Seminar will provide an overview of the industry, covering topics such as resources, mining methods, financing and supply chains in what is described as an interactive session.
New Investors’ Congress Launches
A new addition for 2026 is the Investors’ Congress, sponsored by Cardew Group. This free-to-attend half-day event is aimed at institutional and private investors, focusing on how, why and when to invest in natural resources.
The event will include presentations from mining companies and comes as the UK Government’s Critical Minerals Strategy highlights the sector’s £1.79 billion contribution to the economy and support for more than 50,000 jobs.

Growing Event with Global Reach
The UK Mining Conference was created in 2019 by Cornish Lithium and is hosted by Jay One Events. It has grown significantly in recent years, both in size and international reach.
Managing Director of Jay One Events, Jane Isaacs, said:
“The UK Mining Conference has grown to become one of the most influential, sustainable mining, investment and energy innovation conferences in the UK, attracting over 500 delegates from 18 countries last year.
“One of last year’s key take-homes was how to attract young people into the industry and demonstrate that the modern mineral extraction sector not only provides rewarding career opportunities but is also clean and green.
“We are therefore delighted to be welcoming 15 students from Truro & Penwith College’s brand-new Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship that aims to provide the sector with an answer to its skills challenges.”
Cornwall’s Role in the Future of Mining
Founder and Executive Chairman of Cornish Lithium, Jeremy Wrathall, highlighted the importance of young people entering the industry and the role Cornwall plays in the UK’s mining future.
Jeremy said:
“From the 30 intrepid souls who joined our inaugural event to the 600 delegates that we look forward to welcoming this year, I consider it an absolutely fantastic result that the UK Mining Conference in Cornwall continues to go from strength to strength.
“What began as an initiative to highlight the opportunities for mineral development in Cornwall now also benefits Cornish businesses and communities through local spend.
“Geology courses in Cornwall are full and the Mining Engineering course at Camborne School of Mines has restarted, both of which demonstrate that perceptions are shifting and young people are inspired to pursue the opportunities that the county’s mineral extraction potential offers.
“I am proud to play my part in highlighting the opportunity that Cornwall represents as the critical mineral powerhouse for the UK economy and see this conference as the flag bearer for my ongoing vision.”
