Cornwall weather: Friday 6 November, showers then a frosty night
Keep the coat handy and the scraper somewhere you can find it. The week ends on a chilly, showery note across Cornwall and the wider South West, with the first proper fog and frost of the spell waiting at the end of today. Here is how the Cornwall weather looks from now into the weekend and the start of next week, taken from the Met Office South West England forecast.

Today, Friday 6 November
A cloudy, damp start. Rain and showers push through during the morning across much of the region, though here in the far southwest some spells of autumn sunshine should break through, keeping the showers mainly to the coasts where they could turn heavy. It stays chilly all day, especially inland under the thicker cloud, with highs of only 11°C.
Tonight
A few showers hang on along the coastlines, but most places turn dry as the cloud breaks up. With increasingly clear spells overhead, the temperature drops away to a cold 4°C. Later in the night, areas of fog form and patches of frost develop, so an early start on Saturday could mean clearing the windscreen first.
Saturday 7 November
Any fog that formed overnight lifts through the morning. After that, Saturday is dry but mostly cloudy, with the occasional break to sunny skies rather than long spells of it. Another chilly autumn day, topping out at 10°C.

The outlook: Sunday to Tuesday
Sunday starts foggy in places, and once that clears it leaves a sunny autumn day, the pick of the next few. Monday turns increasingly cloudy as it goes on, ahead of rain arriving in the evening. Then Tuesday changes the feel of things completely, coming in milder, wetter and windier as the settled chilly spell gives way to something more unsettled.
