Cornwall weather: Sunday 8 November, fog clears then mostly fine
If you wake up to a grey, murky start this morning, don’t write the day off. The latest Met Office outlook for the South West has the fog lifting through the day to leave Cornwall mostly fine, with sunny spells by the afternoon, before the week takes a wetter turn. Here is how the regional weather shapes up, covering Cornwall and the wider South West.

Today (Sunday 8 November)
A chilly start, with dense fog sitting across the east of the region first thing. Elsewhere, including the far west of Cornwall, it is brighter, with the odd coastal shower. The fog gradually lifts as the day goes on to leave things mostly dry, and sunny spells arrive in the afternoon. Light winds make it pleasant enough. The maximum is around 12°C.
Tonight
It stays largely dry overnight with some clear spells. Fog and frost is likely to re-form in the east, while further west, over Cornwall, it turns cloudier and breezier. The minimum drops to about 4°C, so a cold one away from the coast.
Monday
Any fog and frost should clear readily in the east to leave bright spells. The change to watch is a strengthening easterly breeze, and patchy rain could develop in the far west, so Cornwall may catch the first of the damper weather. The maximum reaches around 13°C.

Tuesday to Thursday
The outlook turns unsettled. Tuesday is cloudy with rain at times and a southeasterly breeze. There is further rain on Wednesday, and more again for a while on Thursday, before it turns clearer and colder later in the week. That late cold snap is the thread to keep an eye on as the forecast firms up.
