Brett Orchard Returns to St Mawes with The Legend of St Mawes

Author and creator Brett Orchard is set to return to St Mawes next week for a special three-night stay with his family, bringing renewed attention to his Cornish adventure novel The Legend of St Mawes.

The story is closely tied to the village, drawing inspiration from its atmosphere, landmarks and some of the people who make it memorable.

Bringing the Book Back to Its Roots

During the visit, Brett Orchard and his family will be sharing their experience on social media, taking followers on a tour of the real St Mawes locations featured in the book. The aim is to highlight the places, views and local character that helped shape the story.

At the centre of the novel is The Rising Sun, which plays a key role in the book. Guests staying at the hotel can now find a copy of The Legend of St Mawes in every room, as well as in the lounge area, giving visitors the chance to read the story in the very place that inspired it.

Available Locally in the Village

From next week, the book will also be available at Fudge and More in the village. Visitors will be able to buy copies locally, including a number of signed editions for those who ask.

“We absolutely adore St Mawes and the people who make it so amazing. There’s something very special about returning to a place that inspired a story and seeing that story begin to find a real home there. St Mawes has such a unique atmosphere, and The Rising Sun in particular became a big part of the spirit of the book. To know that guests can now discover the story while staying there is genuinely a lovely moment for us as a family.”
