Clive Mitchell Cycles to close Truro shop, move to Summercourt
There is a new building sitting just across the road from the old one in Summercourt, and by the middle of next month it will be full of bikes. Clive Mitchell Cycles has spent months building its new store on the site of the former Clock Garage, and the business is now closing in on the date it swaps one side of the road for the other, while also drawing a line under its long-running Truro shop.

A bigger store, right across the road
The new store will not be a big change of address for regulars. It sits directly opposite the current Summercourt shop, on the former Clock Garage site, and is described by the business as “supersized” compared with what is there now. Being just off the A30 keeps it easy to reach from any direction, and the new site brings plenty of customer parking along with room to try a bike safely before buying it.
Alongside the new store comes a bigger change. Clive Mitchell Cycles has decided to close its Truro shop and bring the whole team together under one roof in Summercourt, a move the business says will let it keep offering the same level of service from a single, larger base.
The dates to plan around
The changeover happens in stages over the coming weeks, and there is a short gap in service to be aware of.
The current Summercourt store closes on Saturday 5 September. The new Summercourt store then opens on Monday 14 September. In between those two dates, neither the old nor the new Summercourt premises will have sales or workshop availability, so anyone with a bike booked in for a service around that time will want to plan ahead.
The Truro shop carries on trading as normal throughout the Summercourt move, covering customers’ cycling needs while the new store gets up and running. It will close for the final time on Friday 9 October.
A grand opening to mark the move
Once the dust has settled, Clive Mitchell Cycles is planning a Grand Open Day at the new Summercourt store on Saturday 10 October.
Anyone with questions about the move, or about servicing and sales during the changeover, can reach the Truro shop on 01872 276930 or the Summercourt shop on 01872 487199.
