Cornwall speed camera areas this week, 26 October to 1 November
If you’re driving anywhere in Mid or East Cornwall this week, there’s a good chance you’ll pass a speed check at some point.
The Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team has shared where its speed detection officers will be focusing from Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November. Cornwall features on six of the seven days, and the weekend is busy for drivers in both the middle and east of the county.

- Thursday 29 October: East Cornwall
- Friday 30 October: no Cornwall areas listed
- Saturday 31 October: East Cornwall and Mid Cornwall

Heading over the Tamar? Here is the complete day-by-day list as shared by Devon & Cornwall Police:
- Monday 26 October: Mid Cornwall, Exeter, West Devon
- Tuesday 27 October: East Cornwall, Plymouth, East Devon, Exeter
- Wednesday 28 October: Mid Cornwall, Plymouth, North Devon, South Devon
- Thursday 29 October: East Cornwall, North Devon, South Devon
- Friday 30 October: Plymouth, East Devon, West Devon, North Devon, South Devon
- Saturday 31 October: East Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, Mid Devon, East Devon
- Sunday 1 November: East Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, West Devon, Exeter
Plymouth appears on three days, as does Exeter. Friday is the busiest day on the list, with five areas covered, all of them in Plymouth and Devon.
How it works
The list gives the areas where speed detection officers will be primarily focused each day. It doesn’t name individual roads or exact spots, so a check could be set up anywhere within an area. And being primarily focused somewhere doesn’t rule out checks elsewhere.

What to do
The simplest advice is the advice the team gives itself. Drive carefully and stay within the speed limit, whichever part of Cornwall or Devon you’re in.
It’s also half-term week for Cornwall schools, and the clocks went back on Sunday, so many drivers will be getting used to darker evenings on the way home.
The police road safety team publishes its focus areas week by week.
