Cornwall’s Coastline Could Look Very Different Soon, Have Your Say Today
Time is running out for anyone in Cornwall who wants to shape how Mounts Bay handles the climate threat creeping up its shoreline.
Cornwall Council and the Environment Agency are asking residents for feedback on the Mounts Bay Coastal Resilience Strategy, a draft plan billed as one of the county’s first major pieces of work to tackle climate change and rising sea levels along this stretch of coast.
What the strategy covers
The draft sets out a coordinated approach to managing future risks across the bay. Both organisations have jointly developed it, and the consultation responses will feed back into the document before either body looks to formally adopt it.
The project team has said all feedback will be reviewed and used to identify any changes needed.
How to take part
The Mounts Bay Coastal Resilience Strategy survey is open on Cornwall Council’s Let’s Talk Cornwall platform, and it closes today, Sunday 10th May 2026.
Results will be shared between Cornwall Council and the Environment Agency so both organisations can work together on any changes that come out of the consultation. Responses to open questions on the survey may be published in full.
Anyone wanting their views on the future of Mounts Bay considered will need to get the survey in before the day is out.
