Cornwall bus network changes from 26 July: what’s shifting

Published On: 27 July 2026Last Updated: 27 July 2026By

If you catch a bus anywhere between Land’s End and Launceston, it is worth a closer look at your timetable. A wide package of changes to the Cornwall bus network came in on Sunday 26 July 2026, arriving weeks ahead of the usual September service review. Go Cornwall Bus says bringing the changes forward gives passengers more time to plan, and that they sit on top of the summer service extras already announced.

Many of the tweaks trace back to passenger comments about timings and where routes run. The stated aim is to match services more closely to how people actually travel. Below is a plain-English guide to the changes most likely to affect your journey. The full route-by-route detail runs to well over a hundred entries, so Transport for Cornwall’s full list of the 26 July changes is the place to check your exact service, along with links to the printable PDF and the separate summer services.

A new bus station at Liskeard

The single biggest thread running through the changes is the new Liskeard Bus Station. A string of routes has been retimed to call there, including the 11 from Dobwalls and Plymouth, the 55 from Delabole and Camelford, the 73 and 73A from Polperro and Looe, the 74 to Callington, the 75 from Torpoint and Seaton, the 77 and 77S from Looe, and the 78 and 78A towards Launceston. Several of those services have had their timetables reworked at the same time to improve reliability.

Plymouth’s new Health Hub

Over the Tamar, three routes have been rerouted through Plymouth city centre to serve the new Health Hub. That covers the 10 to Looe and Polperro, the 11 from Liskeard, and the 12 and 12A to Callington. On the 10, Sunday and Bank Holiday journeys now follow the Monday to Saturday routing.

More buses for the summer holidays

With the school summer holidays under way, extra capacity has been laid on in several spots. A brand new Service 19 runs between Penzance, St Ives Holiday Village and Hayle during the holidays to add capacity. In the St Austell area, the new 26A takes over the St Austell to Eden Project stretch of the 26 for the holiday period, with Go Cornwall Bus saying the 28 has enough room the rest of the year. Additional summer journeys also appear on the 10 between Tregoad and Polperro, the 24 via Polmear around Fowey and Par, the 29 towards Mevagissey and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the 36B between St Keverne and Helston.

Over at Newquay, the 93, 93A and 93T bring in a Newquay Park & Ride from 18 July for the holidays, alongside a reliability retime.

West Cornwall Hospital, Park & Ride and other route tweaks

Around Penzance, the 6 has been rerouted to serve West Cornwall Hospital, and on Sundays and Bank Holidays it now runs 30 minutes earlier throughout the day after customer requests. The 1 and 1A towards Land’s End have been retimed following a new one-way loop through Paul. The 2, 2A and 3 have been reshaped around Helston, with most journeys now running through as a single service between Penzance and Falmouth via Coinagehall Street.

Elsewhere, the 32 between Truro and Falmouth has been extended to additionally serve Tremough Campus, Ponsanooth, Perranwell and Carnon Downs. The 40, 40A and 40B have been integrated with the 46 and 46A into one Truro to Camborne operation. And the Truro to Trelander 84 has been renumbered 483 to line up with the other Truro city services.

A large number of routes across the west and mid-Cornwall have simply had their timetables revised to improve reliability, among them the 14 and 18, the 33 and 33A, the 36 and 36A, the 38 and 39, and the Truro city services 484, 485, 493, 494 and 496.

Roadworks and one service winding down

A few changes are down to roads rather than passenger feedback. Services 21, 22 and 22A have had their routing into St Austell revised because of works in Trinity Street that began on 22 June, and the 21, 22 and 22A face further changes between Nanpean and High Street from 27 July to 24 August for a road closure in Nanpean. On the 425 and 426 around Launceston, Go Cornwall Bus says it is still waiting on National Highways’ traffic management plans for the Plusha works.

One service is scaling back. The 95 between Bude, Boscastle, Camelford and Wadebridge will run its last Sunday service on 31 August, with Sundays not returning until Easter 2027.

The operator notes that the timetable links in its release point to temporary displays and may be adjusted, and it points passengers to the Transport for Cornwall app for live tracking and service updates.
