Camborne roads to shut for Remembrance Parade on Sunday

If you live, work or park in the middle of town, Sunday morning will look a little different.

A handful of streets in Camborne town centre will close to traffic this Sunday (8 November) so the town’s Remembrance Parade can make its way through.

Camborne Town Council has shared the closure notice, which says the parade itself takes place between 10am and 11am.

Which roads are affected

Cornwall Council has made a Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic Order covering:

• Trelowarren Street, between the junctions of Commercial Street and Union Street
• Church Street, for its entire length
• Union Street, for its entire length
• Cross Street, for its entire length

On the map, the closed route loops from Church Street along Trelowarren Street past the Post Office, down Union Street, then back along Cross Street towards Basset Road.

When the roads will be closed

The order comes into force at 10am on Sunday 8 November 2026 and runs until 11.30am the same morning.

While it is in place, no vehicles or bicycles can enter, drive along or wait on those roads, unless directed by a police officer in uniform.

Who is exempt

The order does not apply to police, fire, ambulance or coastguard vehicles, anyone on official duty, vehicles used by an undertaker in an emergency, or traffic linked to the event itself.

Need access during the closure?

Camborne Town Council is asking anyone who needs to get into the marked areas between 10am and 11.30am to call 01209 612406. The council says it will do its best to help where it can.

The order has been made under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and is signed by Vicky Fraser, Cornwall Council’s Service Director of Environment and Connectivity.
