Truro Cathedral still has Christmas trees waiting to be claimed

Twenty Christmas trees are going up inside Truro Cathedral this winter. Each one will be dressed by a local business, charity or community group, and some of them still don’t have anyone lined up to decorate them.

The cathedral says its Christmas Tree Festival is “really starting to take shape”, and it’s now looking for the last few organisations to come on board.

When the Christmas Tree Festival runs

The festival opens on Monday 30 November and runs until Saturday 2 January, nearly five weeks in all. During that time the cathedral will be filled with decorated trees and plenty of festive spirit.

Truro Cathedral expects it to be a hugely popular festival, with large numbers of people coming through the doors. That includes visitors from across Cornwall as well as tourists spending time in Truro over the festive period.

How to sponsor one of the 20 trees

Businesses, charities and community organisations can sponsor one of the 20 trees and decorate it themselves. The trees will stand inside the cathedral for the whole of the festival.

Where the money goes

Funds raised through the sponsorship will go directly towards the ongoing upkeep of Truro Cathedral.

The cathedral has also asked people to share the call within their own communities and networks, and to pass it on to anyone they think might want to take part.
