Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Team Seeks Volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officers
The Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Team is currently looking for new volunteers to join its team.
The call is for people interested in becoming Coastguard Rescue Officers, a voluntary role supporting HM Coastguard, the UK’s 999 maritime and coastal emergency service.
What the role involves
HM Coastguard’s Coastguard Rescue Service is made up of trained volunteers who respond to emergencies along the coastline. As a volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officer, individuals could be involved in a wide range of incidents, including mud rescues, cliff rescues, water rescues and searches for missing people.
The role is unpaid, although volunteers are able to claim a small amount for their time and expenses.
Supporting the local community
Volunteering with the Coastguard Rescue Service is described as a rewarding role that supports and gives back to the local community. Volunteers play a part in helping people in distress and can make a real difference, including helping to save lives.
The Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Team is located within Area 12.
