Check Your Home Now Before It’s Too Late

Cornwall Council is reminding residents of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes, highlighting how they can save lives.

The advice is simple but important. Every home should have at least one smoke alarm on each floor, and they should be tested regularly to make sure they are working properly.

When to Replace Your Smoke Alarms

As well as testing alarms, Cornwall Council says people should check how old they are. If a smoke alarm is more than 10 years old, it should be replaced.

Keeping alarms up to date can make a real difference in an emergency.

Free Fire Safety Check Available

Residents are also being encouraged to complete a free online home fire safety check. The check takes around 15 minutes and can help identify potential risks in the home.
