Boat Found Washed Up in Hayle as Man, 75, Reported Missing

Police say they are increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 75 year old man after his boat was found washed up in the Hayle area.

Police have reported that 75 year old David Fretwell is missing after his boat, called Green Goddess, was located washed up in the Hayle area on 6th March 2026.

Officers say they are growing increasingly concerned for David’s welfare.

Journey along the North Cornwall coast

David is believed to have travelled along the North Cornwall coast by boat, passing Padstow and Newquay, before arriving in the St Ives area on 4th March 2026.

Description released by police

David Fretwell is described as a white male of slim build with short grey hair. He is approximately 5ft 7in tall.
