National Highways Team Volunteers with Cornwall Wildlife Trust to Plant 100 Trees Along A30
Earlier this month, the National Highways Regional Investment Programme team dedicated a day to volunteer with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust in Truro. This effort was part of the A30 Green Ribs Designated Funds project aimed at enhancing local habitats and improving the landscape surrounding the A30 corridor.
Throughout the day, the team planted approximately 100 trees, marking a significant contribution towards creating a healthier environmental growth zone along the A30. The activity was not only a step forward in environmental conservation but also provided a unique opportunity for the team members to support the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. The trust, which operates primarily on volunteers, donations, and grants, benefited greatly from the day’s efforts.
The volunteering day proved to be an excellent chance for colleagues to collaborate outside of their usual working environment, fostering team spirit while contributing positively to the local ecosystem. Despite getting very muddy, the team expressed a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with their efforts.
The National Highways team’s contribution, showcasing their commitment to environmental stewardship and community support, was warmly appreciated. A heartfelt thank you was extended to all participants for their hard work and dedication to making a difference in the Truro area and beyond.
