New colour-changing lights installed at iconic seaside spot

Newquay Harbour has been transformed with a brand new lighting display, thanks to work by Newquay BID and support through the Town Deal.

Colour-changing uplighting has been installed to highlight the cliffs behind the harbour businesses, creating a striking new look that can be seen from vantage points right across Newquay.

“A truly magical display”

Mark Warren, Newquay BID Manager, said:
“We have a stunning harbour in Newquay and should celebrate its beauty. Adding lighting to the cliffs creates a truly magical display and can be seen from all around the coast across Newquay. We will continue to add lighting, especially around key times like Christmas, to really celebrate our fabulous Newquay Harbour.”

The new lighting forms part of a wider effort by Newquay BID to enhance the town’s appearance and support local trade all year round. As a permanent feature, the lights can also be adapted for seasonal events and celebrations.

Welcomed by local businesses

Amie Bradshaw, General Manager at The Boathouse, added:
“The lights look great across the harbour creating a stunning visual effect, this has enhanced the lovely evening atmosphere, our customers are welcoming this new addition to the Harbour.”

The project has been delivered through collaboration with harbour businesses and the Harbour Master’s office.
