Details Announced for Spooky Newquay 2025 and Annual Zombie Crawl
Newquay is gearing up for one of Cornwall’s biggest and eeriest family spectacles as Spooky Newquay returns on Saturday 25th October 2025. The week-long fright-fest will open with the town’s famous Zombie Crawl – now recognised as the only one of its kind in the South West.
Backed by Experience Newquay, this year’s event promises to be bigger, louder and scarier than ever before, complete with free family workshops, pop-up performances and a special appearance from Titan the Robot, the world-famous mechanical marvel originally created in Newquay.
A Day Packed with Frights and Family Fun
From 11am, visitors can dive into a host of wicked workshops across town, offering everything from frightful face painting and pumpkin carving to spooky story times and circus skills.
Titan the Robot will thrill the crowds with creepy comedy, music and surprises from 1.30pm to 2pm on the Killacourt, or inside the Lighthouse Cinema if the weather turns.
Pumpkin carving workshops will run at Project 83 in Wesley Yard between 11am and 2pm (booking required via [Pumpkin Carving](Pumpkin Carving)), while Concho Lounge on Bank Street will host wound-making sessions to help visitors achieve their ultimate zombie transformation.
Face painters will be stationed at several spots across town, including the Lighthouse Cinema, Saltsheds on Beach Road, Choukette on Bank Street, and Saltd at the Train Station from 11am to 2pm.
Additional activities include a banner and zombie outfit workshop at Ralph’s on Fore Street from 11.30am to 1.30pm, and spooky story time sessions at Newquay Library from 11am to 1pm and Clemo Books from 12pm.
The Killacourt will also host a circus skills workshop from 11.30am to 1.30pm, before Titan takes centre stage.
The Main Event: Thousands of Zombies Take Over Newquay
At 3pm sharp, thousands of lifeguards, pirates, pop stars and more will gather at Station Parade on Cliff Road to begin the Zombie Crawl through Newquay’s main street, finishing near Sainsbury’s, Alma Place, around 4pm.
Throughout the day, vibrant street entertainment will feature across Central Square, Marcus Hill, the Post Office and Station Parade, including performances from Bounce Dance Academy, 4 Motion, Cornwall Theatre School and Hotch Potch street performers. In case of rain, these acts will move under cover at Whiskers on Gover Lane.
The celebrations will continue into the evening with spooky after-parties and discos across the town, with venues to be announced soon.
Half-Term Horror and Local Business Boost
The eerie excitement doesn’t end on Saturday. Throughout the Half Term week, visitors can explore the Spooky Halloween Trail, with shops and businesses across Newquay decorating their windows and teams in ghoulish style. Trenance Park will once again host the Spooky Trenance Trail, extending the fun beyond the town centre.
Local businesses are also offering “monster deals” all week long, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Love Newquay + Newquay BID Manager, Mark Warren, said,
“The Zombie Crawl is unlike anything else in Cornwall. It’s a chance for the whole community, families and visitors alike, to take over the town in the best and scariest way possible. Last year’s event brought thousands into Newquay, offering a bumper boost for businesses and the atmosphere was electric. This year we’ve packed in even more workshops, performers and we’ve even roped in Titan the Robot to make it the biggest and best Crawl yet. If you haven’t experienced a Spooky Newquay Zombie Crawl yet, you really need to come and get stuck in.”
Mark added,
“The Spooky Newquay Zombie Crawl is more than just a family day out – it’s a major boost for local businesses. Shops, cafés, restaurants, and attractions are encouraged to get involved by hosting workshops, offering special ‘Spooky Newquay’ half-term deals, and even putting on after-dark discos to keep the fun going well into the evening. This is a completely free family event that we are working to make the biggest Halloween celebration in Cornwall – and maybe even the South West.”
A Celebration of Community Spirit and Spooky Fun
Spooky Newquay has been organised by Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Experience Newquay on behalf of Cornwall Council’s Good Growth Fund.
Experience Newquay is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, aiming to support a resilient year-round visitor economy while promoting Newquay’s unique identity. The funding helps provide training, cultural curation, marketing, and evaluation to attract both local and national visitors sustainably.
With this backing, Spooky Newquay 2025 looks set to draw record crowds, boost local trade, and cement its place as one of Cornwall’s most unmissable family events of the year.
