Reggae Star Hollie Cook to Bring ‘Shy Girl’ Tour to Falmouth
Reggae vocalist Hollie Cook will perform a headline show at the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth on Friday 27th March 2026, as part of her extensive UK tour supporting her latest album, Shy Girl.
Tickets go on sale this Friday 14th November at 10am via holliecook.com.
A Voice for Love and Emotion
“Oh here I go again, more love songs!” Hollie laughs. If there’s one theme she returns to time and again, it’s love — in all its forms. “It makes me feel more alive than anything else!” she says.
On the cusp of releasing her fifth album, Hollie is going back to her roots: tight grooves, beautiful vocals and catchy melodies. Shy Girl is described as her most self-assured and vulnerable work yet.
From The Slits to Solo Success
Daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook, Hollie found her footing in music through an early love of Motown, 60s girl groups and pop icons like Björk and Mariah Carey. But it was reggae that ultimately captured her heart.
After joining feminist post-punk icons The Slits on tour at just 19, Hollie spent four years performing worldwide before teaming up with producer Prince Fatty. Together they created her acclaimed 2011 debut Hollie Cook, laying the foundations for her distinctive “tropical pop” sound.
Subsequent albums Twice (2014), Vessels of Love (2018) and Happy Hour (2022) showcased her evolving style, blending reggae, soul and experimental influences.
The Making of Shy Girl
Almost three years in the making, Shy Girl marks a fresh chapter. Working with long-time collaborators The General Roots Band, Hollie recorded across New York, LA, Spain and London.
Tracks like Night Night, Rockaway and Rivers Run Deep explore emotions from melancholy to hope. “My albums are very much a process of me trying to be as open and honest as I can be,” Hollie explains. “The Shy Girl theme is me. It’s just about being my most vulnerable self.”
A Historic Seaside Venue
The Princess Pavilion on Melvill Road has been a cornerstone of Falmouth’s entertainment scene since it was built in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Originally designed as a concert hall, it has hosted music, theatre, comedy and dance for more than a century.
Set beside Gyllyngdune Gardens and close to Swanpool Beach, the venue remains a vibrant cultural landmark and community space, offering year-round entertainment in a scenic seaside setting.
Hollie Cook’s appearance promises an evening of warmth, rhythm and soulful reggae in one of Cornwall’s most historic venues.
Tickets available from holliecook.com from 10am on Friday 14th November
