Public Invited to Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing Events Across Cornwall

Published On: 22 December 2025Last Updated: 22 December 2025By

People across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are being invited to help shape future neighbourhood health and wellbeing plans, with a series of public events taking place in February and March 2026.

The events follow an online survey run by NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, which has already received responses from more than 1,000 people. Local neighbourhood teams are now inviting residents to meet in person to learn more about current work and to share ideas and feedback.

Listening to local voices

Aisling Crombie, Acting Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, said the events are focused on working with communities to shape future plans.

“These events are about listening to local people and working together to design local neighbourhood health plans that genuinely reflect the needs of each neighbourhood. We know that the best health and wellbeing outcomes are achieved when care is shaped with communities, not just for them, and these events are a really important part of that conversation.”

People of all ages are welcome to attend. The sessions form part of the Caring Where It Matters campaign, which highlights how services can be delivered closer to home and encourages public involvement in shaping neighbourhood health and wellbeing across the county.

What to expect at the events

Those attending can take part in interactive and creative activities, including drawing what a healthy neighbourhood might look like and joining discussion workshops led by local health professionals from Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.

The events will also promote local health and wellbeing support and offer a range of NHS health checks.

Shaping care in different areas

Juliet Ferris, Place Director for West Integrated Care Area covering the Isles of Scilly and Camborne, said the events are a chance for communities to highlight what matters most.

“Every community has its own strengths, challenges and priorities. These events are a chance for people on the Isles of Scilly and in Camborne to tell us what matters most to them and to help shape practical, local solutions that support healthier lives.”

Derek Thomas, Place Director for Central Integrated Care Area covering Truro and St Austell, said the feedback would directly influence how services develop.

“We want people to feel confident that their views really do influence how services develop locally. By coming along to these events in St Austell and Truro, residents can help us focus on what will make the biggest difference to health and wellbeing in their area.”

Tryphaena Doyle, Place Director for North and East Integrated Care Area covering Lanivet, added:

“Lanivet’s event is an opportunity for local people to see how neighbourhood teams are working together, and to share their ideas about how care can be better connected and closer to home. We’re keen to hear from as many voices as possible.”

Other ways to take part

Anyone unable to attend is encouraged to share their views by completing the online survey. An Easy Read version is also available and can be returned by Freepost.
