Paul Gamble Appointed Lifeboat Operations Manager at Fowey RNLI
Fowey Lifeboat Station has appointed a new volunteer Lifeboat Operations Manager, with the role taken on by long serving RNLI member Paul Gamble.
New appointment confirmed
In December 2025, Paul Gamble was appointed as Lifeboat Operations Manager at Fowey RNLI.
Paul brings 47 years of experience working and volunteering with the RNLI. Alongside his new volunteer role, he will continue in his RNLI staff position as Systems Support Manager.
Reaction from the station
Adam Luck, Fowey Lifeboat Management Group Chair, said:
“Paul is a very experienced member of Fowey RNLI and has volunteered for over four decades. Also as an RNLI staff member he is deeply respected within the organisation. As a station we welcome Paul into his new role and look forward to working with him in the new year.”
What the role involves
The Lifeboat Operations Manager leads the operations team and is responsible for managing station personnel and volunteers. The role also includes being a member of the Lifeboat Management Group.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the lifeboat and all associated equipment are kept in a constant state of readiness for service. The Lifeboat Operations Manager also liaises closely with local emergency services and represents the RNLI’s interests locally on all operational matters.
