Booking for the 2026 season at the Minack Theatre opens next week, with tickets going on sale at 10am on Monday 9th February.

The open air theatre has confirmed a packed programme running from April through to October, featuring family theatre, large scale musicals, Shakespeare, drama, opera and a wide range of live music.

All events are now listed online, giving people the chance to plan ahead before booking opens.

Family Theatre and Daytime Shows

Family audiences are well catered for throughout the season. April opens with Giants, running from 3rd to 16th April as a daytime show. The production is a reimagining of the legend of Cormoran, the giant of St Michael’s Mount, and is described as being packed with songs and fun for all the family.

Other family friendly productions include King Arthur from 1st to 4th June, Pinocchio from 22nd to 25th June, Too Many Greek Myths in early July, and Goodnight Mister Tom, which runs from 17th August through to 1st September.

February half term also includes a storytelling performance, with Squashbox Theatre presenting Curious Creatures at 3pm on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, suitable for children aged five and over.

Musicals Taking Centre Stage

Musical theatre features heavily across the summer months. Highlights include Come From Away from 25th to 29th May, telling the true story of air passengers stranded in Canada after 9/11, and Dear Evan Hansen, which runs from 27th to 31st July.

Other musical productions include Anything Goes in early August, Once Upon a Musical in July, and Oh Mary, a solo show based on Mary Bryant’s life, performed in April.

Shakespeare and Classic Drama

Shakespeare returns to the Minack in 2026 with Romeo & Juliet from 15th to 18th June and Julius Caesar from 10th to 13th August.

Classic and contemporary drama is also well represented, including The Girl on the Train from 29th June to 2nd July, Animal Farm in July, Jack Absolute Flies Again, and The Importance of Being Earnest, which runs from 21st to 24th September.

Music Across the Season

Live music spans a wide range of styles, from folk and choral performances to nationally recognised artists.

April includes performances from Flats & Sharps, Steve Backshall vs Dinomania, and Fisherman’s Friends. May brings artists such as Passenger, Gwenno, Willy Mason, Shantify and Ranagri.

June and July feature Sam Palladio, Newton Faulkner, The Breath, Davina & The Vagabonds and Five Beacons of Light, while later in the season audiences can enjoy Ben & Tom Waters, Proms at the Minack and Seth Lakeman, who closes the season on 2nd October.

Choral performances include Mevagissey Male Choir with special guests Culdrose Military Wives Choir, along with Cornwall Youth Choirs appearing as part of Five Beacons of Light.

Opera at the Minack

Opera is a major part of the late summer programme, with The Marriage of Figaro in early September, followed by Lakmé and Iolanthe. These productions run through to mid September before the season moves towards its close.

Half Term Opening Times

The Minack will be open every day during February half term from 15th to 21st February, with visitors welcome from 10am. Last admission is 3pm, except on Tuesdays and Thursdays when last entry is 12 noon.

How to Book

Tickets can be booked online by visiting the event page for each performance and selecting the blue booking button. This opens a list of available performances, with availability clearly shown where tickets are limited.

All events can be viewed on the Minack website here.

Supporting the Theatre

The Minack Theatre is a charitable trust and not for profit organisation. Ticket income supports the upkeep of the theatre and funds creative and educational work with schools and communities across West Cornwall.

With productions running from early April through to October, the 2026 season is one of the most extensive programmes the Minack has announced.
