Spring Colours Set to Fill Lostwithiel Gallery This Month

A new exhibition celebrating the arrival of spring is set to open in Lostwithiel later this month, bringing together a range of contemporary artists working across different mediums.

Elaine Foster-Gandey Art will host the Spring Collective Exhibition from Friday 27th March to Friday 17th April, showcasing work inspired by the colours, textures and movement associated with the changing season.

The exhibition will take place at Elaine Foster-Gandey Art, 15 Queen St, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, and will be open daily from 10am to 5pm.

A Celebration of Spring

The three week exhibition brings together a curated group of artists working across painting, textiles, photography and mixed media. The collection reflects themes often associated with spring, including shifting light, vibrant colours and textured surfaces that mirror the rhythms of growth and renewal in the natural world.

Among the artists featured is Anne Blackwell-Fox, whose paintings of trees and landscapes focus on the strength and quiet beauty of nature.

Landscape also appears as a theme in the oil paintings of Rachel Hardy, while Rosie French presents expressive works inspired by the Rame Peninsula.

Textiles and Mixed Media Featured

Textile and mixed media artwork plays a strong role in the exhibition.

Catherine Blunden will present woven pieces including landscapes, while Tracey Attfield will display free-flow machine embroidery depicting animals alongside her paintings.

Gallery owner Elaine Foster-Gandey will also exhibit textiles and paintings inspired by birds and people, exploring movement and character through layered surfaces and colour.

Other artists taking part include Sara Thomas, who contributes textile pieces and handmade lampshades, and multidisciplinary artist Mary Toon, who will show figurines and mixed media work in both 2D and 3D forms.

Abstract and Contemporary Works

The exhibition also includes abstract artwork by Kathryn Smith, along with her popular cards.

Kymberley Robinson will display cards and prints, while Heidi Swire brings together work across painting, textiles and photography.

Meanwhile, Wendy Rylance will present paintings of surfers and landscapes, as well as a selection of her cards.

Opening Event in March

The exhibition begins with a Private View on Friday 27th March, giving visitors the opportunity to meet the artists and celebrate the launch of the show.

Over the past year, Elaine Foster-Gandey Art has grown as a destination within Cornwall’s arts scene, known for its exhibitions and welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
