Police Appeal Over Reported Seagull Attack on St Ives Seafront
A seagull, a busy seafront and a report that has reached the police without a single witness coming forward. That is the odd situation Devon & Cornwall Police now find themselves in.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and footage after a report that a seagull was attacked in St Ives.
The force says it received a third hand report about the incident, which is said to have taken place on the seafront on the afternoon of Wednesday 10th June.
According to social media posts, a man punched and beat a seagull. Those posts were widely shared online.
But despite all the attention, the matter was not reported to police by anyone who was actually present at the scene.

What police are asking for
Now that officers have been made aware, they want to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has relevant footage that could help.
